One of the most vital concerns of the Orange Association is children. Children are invisible survivors of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and assault. They are forced to leave their homeland and families due to wars and conflicts and their lives are disintegrated and shattered. Children are also victims of child marriages, forced child labor, occupational accidents, sexual harassment and abuse, and incest. Like violence against women, incest and sexual abuse are common at every socio-economic and educational level regardless of regional cultures and differences. Every year, dozens of child workers lose their lives in workplace homicides. According to a report published by Girls Not Brides, 15 percent of girls under 18 are forced to marry in Turkey.
For this reason, among the objectives of the Orange Association are to organize campaigns for vulnerable and at-risk children, to prevent child neglect and abuse, to ensure that child workers and children who dropped out from schools grow in a healthy and happy environment, to protect children who are victims of early and forced marriages; and to end child abuse and sexual harassment.
